Below are the (3) Awards honored by the National Latino Peace Officers Association:
NATIONAL LATINA OF THE YEAR
The NATIONAL NLPOA – LATINA OF THE YEAR PROGRAM was created in 2000 and is dedicated to the female who gives unselfishly of herself through her acts of good deeds. This nominee should be of outstanding achievements that has given back to the community freely and voluntarily and has gone beyond the expectations of those around her, making positive contributions within the community. This award is not limited to sworn or even a member of the NLPOA.
NATIONAL OFFICER of the YEAR AWARD
The NATIONAL NLPOA-OFFICER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE is determined on the basis of the law enforcement officer who has made significant contributions to the community or agency, innovative practices, exemplary or heroic actions, and/or leadership skills.
NATIONAL LIFETIME MEMBER AWARD
The NATIONAL NLPOA-LIFETIME MEMBER AWARD NOMINEE should be a person who has been a NLPOA Member for at least 20 years; has exemplified excellent organization and leadership skills as a Member; and shown commitment to the NLPOA organization and to the mission, goals, and objectives of the National Latino Peace Officers Association.
