Miguel Hernandez was selected for his more than 25-years of Loyalty and Service the NLPOA. Miguel has been an NLPOA member since 1993. Deputy Miguel Hernandez began his law enforcement career in 1993 after a four-year enlistment in the US Navy. He joined the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department in 1993, as a Detention Service Officer, and worked in various positions within the Detentions Division. In 1997, he graduated from the Sheriff’s academy as a Deputy Sheriff. He worked in the bond / warrant section, Patrol / traffic section, Narcotics and Personnel section.

He is currently assigned as a Detective in the Vehicle Crimes Unit. Since early 1994, as a member of the NLPOA Dallas Chapter, Miguel immediately volunteered and attended just about every event, including attending National Conferences. In 2010, we separated from the original Dallas Chapter and formed the NLPOA Dallas County Chapter. Miguel remained a member and was elected as the first chapter Treasurer. Miguel was selected for his commitment and outstanding leadership. The Chapter financial records are kept updated. Miguel also assists with other functions of the association. He has been instrumental in recruiting new members into the association and is a voice for our members.  He dedicates much of his off-duty time to ensure NLPOA stays strong within the department and within the community.
