NLPOA Member, Gene Reyes’ Senior Olympics medals

This photograph is of our oldest NLPOA Member, Gene Reyes, who last month completed in the Senior Olympics in Parris, California..
This year he won 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals in his age group 80 to 85 years of age. Gene became an accomplished marathon runner when we competed in the California Police Olympics as well as many other long distance running throughout the state and in Baja California. As a running back, Gene was selected to the ‘All American Hall off Fame” for his outstanding running back career while at Sacramento State University.
Since 1972, Compa Gene has been a staunch supporter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association and served as Association Manager under Ruben Diaz, Lou Quijas, Jose Miramontes and my NLPOA President’s administration. Congratulations to Compa Gene for his dedication to NLPOA and his commitment to staying in physical shape, there are not too many his age that can still do it!
