In remembrance of September 11, 2001, some of the members of the NLPOA Fresno County attended the luncheon coordinated by Christian Business Men’s Connection and Chris Montelongo, Board of Directors, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference at Pardini’s. In attendance was Joe & Maria Ortiz, Ruben & Rosemary Diaz and Bob Solis.
The Honorable Michael Montelongo, Former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, appointed by President George W. Bush, was the guest speaker. Mr. Montelongo is a graduate of West Point and Harvard. He has served on various Corporate and government Boards such the Denny’s Corp., Herbalife, NASA Advisory Council, and many others.
He currently serves on the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Board of Directors who own the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A affiliate of the CA Angels) and the NBA’s Utah Jazz. His remarks were inspirational and spoke about how he felt along with other Military members on 9/11/2001. He spoke about community organizations working together to provide a better future for our youth. Mr. Montelongo service was recognized and appreciated by all in attendance.
