This past week the NLPOA Central Valley Chapter had the great pleasure of joining with the Vietnam Veteran Organizations from the cities of Dinuba, Orosi and Cutler in the18th Annual Dinner Honoring Veterans. The dinner was free for all veterans …. even Elvis came what would a celebration be without Elvis. Chapter President Richard Holguin and NLPOA Founder Vicente presented certificates of Appreciation to all the veteran organizations.
Lieutenant Colonel, retired, Leonard Rios was the keynote speaker and gave a rousing talk on the sacrifices made by our service personnel and especially their spouses and family while they are away. Don’t forget when you see a veteran, thank him for his/her service. Our member Romelia Costillo who was the chair of raising funds for the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Dinuba was also there this time leading the Diabetes Fundraiser. It was an outstanding affair and the community came in support as they always do. After all, they were able to raise $280,000 to built the way and they did it in under 3 years.
