George Gonzalez celebrated his 99th birthday last week. He was provided with a surprise party where he received an American Flag that flew over the national capital, a thank you certificate from Congressman Devin Nunes for his services in World War II, he also received many gifts from citizens and members of American Legion Sierra Post 785 as well as NLPOA Central California Chapter. Mr. Gonzalez served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and New Guinea during his military tour from 1942 to 1945. Georges other 4 brothers also served in WWII and all returned back to Visalia safely.
